Latte. Sift 1.5 g (about ½ teaspoon) into a cup. Add 20 ml of water at 75–80 °C and mix into a smooth base. Add 150–200 ml of warm milk. 30 g makes 20 cups, 100 g makes 66.

Traditional (usucha). Sift 1.5 g. Add 60–70 ml of water at 75–80 °C. Whisk with a bamboo whisk (chasen) in a “W” motion until a fine foam forms.
