MIMA Hōjicha is a Japanese roasted green tea powder made from gently roasted tea stems. Naturally low in caffeine, it offers a warm, nutty flavor with soft cocoa notes and a smooth, calming character.

Because of its low caffeine content, hōjicha is ideal for evenings or for anyone looking for a gentler alternative to matcha. It can be prepared in a similar way or enjoyed as a comforting latte with milk of your choice.

Preparation

Sift 2 g (½ tsp) of hōjicha into a bowl or cup.
Add about 20 ml of water at 80–90 °C (176–194 °F).
Whisk until smooth and lightly foamy.
For a latte, add warm milk of your choice.
